GET ON THE WEB
Do you have a business, association or small country? Do you want to get on the Internet?
Let's do it!
My associates and I want to assist you in getting on the internet. This new world is changing rapidly, and it can seem intimidating. We can simplify it for you.
Internet Basics:
There is a place, like the phone book, where millions of people (more every day) look for information, including things about you and your business. Even if you are not ready to have your own website, a reference to you may be on the internet already. To put that another way, while you are contemplating your internet presence, you may already be there!
You can have your own web address (a domain name), with your company name. People all over the world can see your story, and contact you. Your presence, by the site you develop, can put you on an equal level with larger competitors. It is easy to add Email for all recipients and departments.
Your unique website can let you stand out from the crowd. We can design a website for you with a single page, or many. You can tell your story inexpensively, with text, like a phone book ad, and it wont cost you extra to have large print. Choose your own top level domain name or start with a free url like: Listen.to/ME...
You can add photos, sounds and simple bells and whistles or mind-blowing animation that will amaze everyone who sees them. They may or may not be a good idea for your site... But you can start right away for less than you think (under $100), and have it hosted for no monthly fee.
Speaking of free, there is a lot of information here, and we guarantee this advice is worth every penny:
The first step to getting online, may be to find out that you are already there!
Lets say your business is a restaurant, but you can substitute any business. Understand that most local newspapers and tv/radio channels have websites. Food (substitute your product or service) may have a forum there. Phone books, municipalities and regulatory agencies are online, and every kind of thing imaginable is listed. Many of these sites with listings will link to your website for free. There is a lot of duplication of information, and some of these lists are not always accurate or up-to-date. Someone should look for places (on the web) where you are listed. In doing so they can find places where you should be and have your listing added.
So even if you are not ready to develop your own page, you can benefit from researching what is already there. If you paid for an advertisement you would want the copy correct. Having it right is just as important when the listings were not purchased.
THE NEXT STEP IN PROMOTING YOUR SITE
This new cyber marketplace was perfect for some products and services. Others can wait a while. If the world (or your market) is looking for your well known, specific company name or product, the search engines need to have your sites, and the customers will beat a path to... the front door of your website. Check out my updated list.
Another important option is attracting hits from related sites. Hyperlinks to your site from related sites (where REAL potential customers are currently looking) are a great. Surfers who clicked a link to you are likely to want to hear about what you have to say or sell.
Some related websites have a list of helpful links, but don't have YOU on their list now! It should be there, but someone may just have to tell them! You may be on a vendor or merchant list (on a related site) already, taken from their database or even the phone book. It may already include your company, but not a hyperlink to your informative website. They may not even know of your site, or that they can link to you. They may only need to be told.
Finding these sites is like prospecting. When you find them, you can contact them and suggest a link or co-link (when you link to them as well).
Another part of the internet is Newsgroups, where in text, all subjects are discussed. When something posted can be constructively commented on, your donation of helpful information can include an invitation to check out your site. Someone can subscribe to a few of the many newsgroups, and look for places to consider posting a comment.
Some websites join related sites in a web ring. This could be a valuable addition to increase traffic. A graphic is posted on the page offering the reader to go to another site on the ring. It is likely an equal number will click the ring on another site, and come to you.
There are many related webbings, and many more related websites. It's a good way to search and to see what other people are doing. In late 2000 Webring.Org became Webring/Yahoo.

We will tell you how to start, and encourage your active participation. Prices for our services can be quoted accurately only after we understand your individual circumstance.
A last point: Understand that there is a need for taking the time to do research and to constantly update your website. Adding new things keeps people coming back. Too often we all find a website of an active business, that mentions an event coming up... last year!
An important part of advanced websites is the ability to take payments. When this feature is done right (with a "shopping cart") it can be very expensive. Paypay is an inexpensive way to take payments online. Click on the PayPal logo below to set up your account so you can send money through the internet, for free.
