Unique Buddhist Hell Money

One of the tenets of Buddhism is ancestor worship. The Hell Buddhists believe in is not an evil place run by the devil. They knew about reincarnation when they heard about hell (from Christians) and assumed hell is an in between place of learning and a place of spirit waiting to be reborn.

Buddhist tradition has created colorful paper money which is burned, so that a dead ancestor who might have ended up in Hell would have something to spend. These Hell Notes are also burned on the Chinese New Year.
